Samen met online community radio We Are Various en kunstencentrum Het Bos organiseert Letterveld twee keer per jaar een Literaire Carrousel in de Bosbar. Een literaire carrousel is een avond vol woord, verbeelding en onverwachte ontmoetingen, opgebouwd vanuit één thema. Het programma biedt plek aan wie schrijft, denkt, zich uitspreekt of experimenteert: van verhalenvertellers tot spoken word-artiesten, van briefschrijvers tot dromers, veranderaars, twijfelaars en nieuwsgierige geesten. Korte, krachtige bijdragen (NL, ENG, FR, …) wisselen af met muziek en tussen de tekstblokken door is er tijd om elkaar te ontmoeten, te praten, te luisteren of gewoon even te blijven hangen. Het Bos, Letterveld organises a Literary Carousel at the Bosbar twice a year. A Literary Carousel is an evening filled with words, imagination and unexpected encounters, built around a single theme. The programme offers a space for those who write, think, speak out, or experiment: from storytellers to spoken-word artists, from letter writers to dreamers, change-makers, doubters, and curious minds. Short, powerful contributions (NL, ENG, FR, …) alternate with music, and between the text segments, there is time to meet, talk, listen, or simply linger for a while. Volgende editie – Next edition
De volgende editie gaat door op 14 oktober 2026 met als thema ‘Wortels/Roots’. Uitgeverij Cossee cureert een deel van de avond en laat o.a. de winnaar van de schrijfwedstrijd die ze met literair tijdschrift Hard//hoofd organiseert aan het woord. Meer nieuws volgt spoedig.
The next edition will take place on 14 October 2026, with the theme ‘Wortels/Roots.’ Cossee Publishers will curate part of the evening and will give the floor to, among others, the winner of this writing competition they are organising in collaboration with the literary magazine Hard//hoofd. More news will follow shortly.

04.02.2026 Literaire Carrousel ‘Stem/Voice’
Op 4 februari 2026 organiseerde Letterveld Collectief een Literaire Carrousel met als thema ‘Stem/Voice’. Naast Letterveld cureerden ook de Nederlandse uitgeverij HetMoet en literair tijdschrift Deus Ex Machina een deel van de avond.
TIjdens VOICE/STEM nodigden we makers uit om ongehoorde stemmen te laten weerklinken, onverwachte woorden te vertolken, authenticiteit te zoeken in vertrouwde teksten, originaliteit te ontdekken in platgelezen zinnen of ongegeneerd hun eigen stem te ontdekken. Solo of polyfoon. Vals of toonvast.
STEM is een van de thematieken die aan bod komen in de roman-in-wording Sterrevink van Letterveld-lid Natalie Gielen, die speciaal voor deze editie romanfragmenten doorheen de avond weefde. Ze vroeg ook de andere stichtende leden van Letterveld en Ugnė Noreikė en Tülin Erkan mee op het podium.

On 4 February 2026, the Letterveld Collective organised a Literary Carousel that explored the theme ‘Voice/Stem.’ In addition to Letterveld, the Dutch publishing house HetMoet and literary magazine Deus Ex Machina also curated a part of the evening.
During VOICE/STEM, we invited makers to let unheard voices resonate, to give shape to unexpected words, to seek authenticity in familiar texts, to discover originality in over-read sentences, or to unapologetically explore their own voice. Solo or polyphonic. Off-key or perfectly pitched.
VOICE is one of the themes explored in Sterrevink, the novel-in-progress by Letterveld member Natalie Gielen, who wove fragments of the novel throughout the evening and invited the other Letterveld founding members and Ugnė Noreikė and Tülin Erkan to the stage.

08.10.2025 Literaire Carrousel ‘Angst/Fear’
Op woensdag 8 oktober 2025 stelde Letterveld, in samenwerking met kunstencentrum Het Bos en community radio We Are Various een vierde Literaire Carrousel samen. De avond stond in het teken van het thema ‘Angst/Fear’.
Angst kent vele verschijningsvormen, van diepgeworteld overlevingsinstinct tot ijle, collectieve waanzin. Angst nestelt zich in onze gedachten, in ons hele lijf. En angst laat sporen na. Soms krassen kleine angsten diepe groeven, soms verlamt grote angst ons hele bestaan. Samen verkenden we angsten.
Voor deze gelegenheid cureerde PEN Vlaanderen een tekstblok: zij nodigen de Oekraïense schrijver Sergej Sjamanov uit en hielden ook een lege stoel voor de Palestijnse dichter Refaat Alareer.

On Wednesday 8 October 2025, Letterveld , in collaboration with arts centre Het Bos and community radio We Are Various curated a fourth Literary Carousel. The evening revolved around the theme “Angst/Fear.”
Fear takes many forms, from deeply rooted survival instinct to diffuse, collective madness. Fear settles in our thoughts, in our entire bodies. And fear leaves traces. Sometimes small fears carve deep grooves; sometimes great fear paralyses our entire existence. Together, we explored fear.
For this occasion, PEN Flanders curated a part of the evening: they invited the Ukrainian writer Sergej Sjamanov and also kept an empty chair for the Palestinian poet Refaat Alareer.

09.05.2025 – Literaire Carrousel – ‘Belichaamd/Embodied’
Op 9 april 2025 presenteerde Letterveld Collectief in samenwerking met Het Bos en We Are Various een derde Literaire Carrousel over het thema ‘Belichaamd/Embodied’ – de lichamelijkheid van taal, het gewicht van woorden in beweging, de ruimte tussen verandering en herinnering. Belichaamd presenteerde teksten die dwalen, woorden die weerstand bieden, fragmenten die breken en toch behouden blijven.

Op 9 april 2025 bracht Letterveld Collectief, in samenwerking met Het Bos en We Are Various, een tweede Literaire Carrousel. De avond stond in het teken van het thema Rafelranden. – De uithoeken van onze geest, gedachten en dromen. De randen van onze steden, buitenwijken en kusten. De braakliggende terreinen van ons sociale, economische en seksuele leven.

25.11.2023 – ‘Various/Verschil’
Op 25 november 2023 vond de eerste Literaire Carrousel van Letterveld Collectief plaats, op uitnodiging van community radio We Are Various ter gelegenheid van hun tiende verjaardag.
Voor deze editie selecteerden schrijvers uit de Shut Up and Write-gemeenschap, verbonden aan Letterveld Collectief, teksten die hen raakten en inspireerden. Gedichten, fragmenten en prozateksten werden gedeeld als persoonlijke vertrekpunten voor denken, luisteren en schrijven.
De Literaire Carrousel bood zo een eerste gedeelde ruimte waarin teksten circuleerden en stemmen elkaar ontmoetten.

On 25 November 2023, the first Literary Carousel by the Letterveld Collective took place, at the invitation of community radio We Are Various to mark their tenth anniversary.
For this edition, writers from the Shut Up and Write community, connected to the Letterveld Collective, selected texts that moved and inspired them. Poems, fragments and prose pieces were shared as personal points of departure for thinking, listening and writing.
The Literary Carousel thus offered an initial shared space in which texts circulated and voices met.
