Samen met online community radio We Are Various en kunstencentrum Het Bos organiseert Letterveld sporadisch Literaire Carrousels in de Bosbar. Een literaire carrousel is een avond vol woord, verbeelding en onverwachte ontmoetingen, opgebouwd vanuit één urgent thema. Het programma biedt plek aan wie graag schrijft, denkt, zich uitspreekt of experimenteert: van verhalenvertellers tot spoken word-artiesten, van briefschrijvers tot dromers, veranderaars, twijfelaars en nieuwsgierige geesten.
Korte, krachtige bijdragen wisselen af met een literaire muzikale act, en tussen de blokken door is er tijd om elkaar te ontmoeten, te praten, te luisteren of gewoon even te blijven hangen. Een open, gecureerde plek waar tekst leeft en beweegt.

Literaire open call: Angst
Op 8 oktober 2025 organiseert Letterveld een vierde Literaire Carrousel, in samenwerking met kunstencentrum Het Bos en de online community radio We Are Various. Deze editie verkent het thema Angst.
Angst kent vele verschijningsvormen, van diepgeworteld overlevingsinstinct tot ijle, collectieve waanzin. Angst nestelt zich in onze gedachten, in ons hele lijf. En angst laat sporen na. Soms krassen kleine angsten diepe groeven, soms verlamt grote angst ons hele bestaan. Samen verkennen we angsten.
Letterveld cureert opnieuw een avond vol literaire performances en live muziek, gehost door Het Bos en gestreamd via de community radio We Are Various. Het evenement vindt plaats in de Bosbar, van 20:00 tot 23:00 uur op 8 oktober 2025. We nodigen je uit om (eigen) proza, poëzie, essayfragmenten, stellingen of vluchtige gedachten te delen die resoneren met dit thema.

Enkele richtlijnen:
- Teksten moeten aansluiten bij het thema angst.
- Genre en taal staan vrij.
- Performance- of leestijd: 30 seconden tot 4 minuten of 500 max woorden.
Letterveld streeft ernaar een meerstemmige avond te creëren. Dit uitgangspunt bepaalt de selectie en volgorde van spreken. Letterveld bestaat uit een groep enthousiaste vrijwilligers, wat betekent dat we slechts een beperkt aantal teksten grondig kunnen lezen. Onze capaciteit ligt op 40 teksten. Zodra we dit maximum hebben bereikt, sluiten we de open oproep en ontvangen nieuwe inzenders een bericht dat de oproep is afgesloten. Uiterlijk op 1 september 2025 hoor je meer van ons. We kijken uit naar je inzending!
Literary open call: Fear
On the 8th of October 2025 Letterveld collective will organise a fourth Literary Carousel, in collaboration with art centre Het Bos and online community radio We Are Various. This edition explores the theme Fear.
Fear takes many forms, from deeply rooted survival instinct to collective madness. Fear settles in our thoughts, in our entire bodies. And fear leaves traces. Sometimes small fears carve deep grooves, sometimes fear paralyses our whole existence. Together we explore fears.
Letterveld once again curates an evening with literary performances and live music, hosted by Het Bos, streamed on We Are Various community radio. The event will take place at the Bosbar, from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM on October 8, 2025. We invite you to present (your) prose texts, poetry, essay excerpts, statements or fleeting thoughts that resonate with the theme.

Submission guidelines:
- Submitted texts must engage with the theme fear.
- All genres and languages are welcome.
- Length: Texts should be suitable for performance or reading aloud, lasting between 30 seconds and 4 minutes, with an absolute maximum of 500 words.
Letterveld aims to curate an evening where multiple perspectives are heard. This guiding principle will inform the selection and line up. Our reading team consists of dedicated volunteers, which means we are only able to thoroughly review a limited number of texts. We can consider up to 40 submissions. Once we reach this capacity, we will close the call and send an automatic response to any further submissions, notifying that the call has been closed. Selected contributors will be informed by 1 September 2025 with further details. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Embodied presents texts that wander, words that resist, fragments that fracture and hold. A gathering of echoes -prose, poetry, statements and fleeting thoughts – curated by Letterveld collective.
